2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) is dealing with knee irritation and will be managed during the week. McCaffrey was dealing with knee soreness in the Week 12 win over the New Orleans Saints, when he had 11 carries for 32 yards while catching four of his six targets for 17 yards. Given the 26-year-old's extensive history with lower-body injuries, it makes sense for the Niners to play it safe with him heading into their Week 13 matchup against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. With Elijah Mitchell (knee) out six to eight weeks, CMC could see a larger share of the backfield workload moving forward as long as his knee doesn't get in the way. Rookies Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price will battle for backup duties the rest of the way. McCaffrey remains a must-start RB1 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
