Chris Weidman won a very close decision against Omari Akhmedov. With the win, Weidman returns to the win column for the first time since July of 2017. Weidman collected 67 total strikes, with 25 of those being significant strikes. This was a make-or-break bout for Weidman if he wanted to continue his career. In his post-fight interview, he sounded very confident he still has a good bit of gas in the tank. Weidman had dropped out of the top 15, but with the win he should be back in there. If he gets another bout against an opponent outside of the top 10, Weidman could have another very solid performance.--Matt Bricker
