Chris Godwin To See More Work Outside
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, who is now the second-leading receiver in team history behind teammate Mike Evans, is expected to see more work outside in 2023, in addition to his role in the slot. Godwin is seventh in the NFL in receiving yards per game (78.2) over the last four years. In 2022, he played 60% of his snaps out of the slot, with only 27% coming on the outside. "You'll see a little bit of everything," said wide receivers coach Brad Idzik. "And I know that sounds like coach speak, right? 'Oh, I don't want to give away our trade secrets.'" The 27-year-old had a career-high 104 catches and his third 1,000-yard season despite missing time due to injury last year, but his fantasy floor and ceiling will be much lower now that Tom Brady won't be throwing him the pigskin.
