Chiefs Trade For Kadarius Toney
2 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstrings) from the New York Giants on Thursday in exchange for a conditional third-round pick and a sixth-rounder in 2023, according to a source. Toney, the Giants' first-round pick in 2021, was an absolute bust with the team, playing in a total of 12 games through seven weeks of this season due to various lower-body injuries. The 23-year-old has intriguing speed, quickness and after-the-catch ability, but he just hasn't been able to stay on the field early in his career. In two games with the G-Men earlier this year, he had just two catches for zero yards and two carries for 23 yards. His skill set could be absolutely dynamic paired with quarterback Patrick Mahomes if he can ever get healthy, but he could also struggle for targets in a receiving room that includes JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mecole Hardman. For now, Toney remains stash-worth only in extremely deep and dynasty formats.
