Chiefs Restructure Patrick Mahomes' Contract

The Kansas City Chiefs restructured quarterback Patrick Mahomes' contract on Monday, giving him $210.6 million between this year and 2026, the most money in NFL history over a four-year span. He will also be guaranteed that money. The Chiefs and Mahomes plan to revisit the agreement again after the 2026 season, according to Chris Cabott, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Mahomes. The 28-year-old superstar QB looked better in a low-scoring win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 on Sunday, going 29-for-41 with 305 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He hasn't quite looked like the MVP candidate that he normally is so far, but it certainly helped that he got All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce back after Kelce missed Week 1 with a knee injury.
