Chase Young Won't Return To Practice This Week
2 years agoWashington Commanders defensive end Chase Young (knee) hasn't suffered any setbacks, but the team is being cautious with him and won't start his 21-day window to be activated from Injured Reserve this week, according to a team source. If all goes well with Young's next doctor's visit, he will likely return to practices next week. The 23-year-old could make his season debut in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings if he's able to return to practice this week, but that might be an optimistic timeline. Young had surgery last November to fix a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee. The third-year former second overall pick made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season with 7.5 sacks and 32 solo tackles in 15 games, but he took a step back in his sophomore campaign before suffering the devastating knee injury.
