Chase Claypool Still Not Practicing
2 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that wide receiver Chase Claypool (undisclosed) is "dealing with a few things" and has been sidelined from offseason practices for a few weeks. Eberflus said that Claypool continues to work with the team's trainers. The 24-year-old pass-catcher suffered a soft-tissue injury during organized team activities, and while it doesn't appear to be serious, he's missing out on valuable time to gain chemistry with quarterback Justin Fields. Claypool should be healthy for training camp this summer, but he'll also be competing for targets next to DJ Moore and Darnell Mooney in 2023. He's extremely athletic, but in a Bears offense that hasn't proven anything through the air yet, Claypool figures to be the No. 3 wideout behind Moore and Mooney.
