After posting a 1.77 ERA and 31.4% K-BB rate in 66 minor league innings, Burns recorded a 35.6% strikeout rate, 28.1% K-BB rate, and a 3.48 xERA in 43.1 innings with the Reds. Burns was able to dominate using his 4-seamer and slider a combined 91.7% of the time, the latter of which had a stellar .197 BAA and 43.9% whiff rate in the Majors.
