Chas McCormick Comes Off Injured List And Goes Hitless
2 years agoThe Houston Astros activated outfielder Chas McCormick (back) from the 10-day injured list on Monday and optioned third baseman Rylan Bannon to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. McCormick was immediately in the starting lineup in center field while batting seventh against the Los Angeles Angels, but he finished 0-for-4 in the contest with one strikeout in the 6-4 loss. The 28-year-old missed almost a month with a back strain, so he may be slow to get going again at the plate. It also might take him a bit to get back near the top of the batting order, but McCormick should see most of the starts in center field. Before his injury, he was hitting .275 (11-for-40) with three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and four stolen bases in just 11 games.
