Charlie McAvoy Scores First Career Postseason Goal
7 years agoBoston Bruins rookie defenseman Charlie McAvoy potted the first goal of his Stanley Cup playoff career. The 20-year-old had a single assist in the Bruins first-round series but already has three points in two games against the Tampa Bay Lightning. McAvoy was following up an offensive rush when he was fed a puck in the high slot from Patrice Bergeron. The defenseman beat Andrei Vasilevskiy blocker side to tie the game at one late in the first. McAvoy has six shots on goal, a plus-five rating and one power-play point to this point in the playoffs. Despite logging serious time on ice thus far, McAvoy doesn’t have much in the way of stats or peripherals to show for it. His DFS value is suspect, but he could be a sneaky start if he continues this streak against Tampa.
