4 years agoMultiple teams are expected to contact the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday to ask about the availability of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, according to sources. However, the chances of him being traded are "remote," according to one source. The 49ers don't currently have plans to trade Garoppolo unless the value of a proposed deal overwhelms them. San Francisco is fully expected to take their QB of the future with the third overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday, which will leave the future of Jimmy G in a Niners uniform in question if he isn't traded. The consensus is that the team will take Alabama signal-caller Mac Jones at No. 3 overall, and he could be ready to start immediately. There's a chance that Garoppolo is used as a bridge QB, but either way, it's pretty clear that Garoppolo isn't the future in San Francisco after several injury plagued seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
