San Francisco Giants infielder Casey Schmitt (hand) has been activated off the 10-day injured list on Monday. Schmitt is back in the mix after being sidelined since late June due to hand inflammation. He'll jump right back into the lineup batting sixth and playing second base versus left-hander Cristopher Sanchez on Monday. Schmitt is slashing .276/.360/.439 with four home runs and 15 RBI across 34 games this season. He should offer some deep league appeal, but won't have much value outside of that. In a corresponding move, infielder Tyler Fitzgerald has been optioned to Triple-A.--Andy Webb
