2 years agoBuffalo Sabres center Casey Mittelstadt logged three assists as the team suffered a heart-breaking 4-3 overtime loss against Pittsburgh on Friday. His work helped the Sabres to grab a 2-1 lead, but the hosts also needed a late Kyle Okposo strike on the power play to extend the game. Mittelstadt has had a decent season with 16 points in 27 games, but his situation has been worrying as of late, with the 24-year-old seeing significantly less ice time than usual. He skated for 10:31 on Friday, and Mittelstadt hasn't even hit the 10-minute mark a couple of times in recent weeks.
