The New York Mets selected outfielder Carson Benge with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Benge was limited during his first season at the college level as he underwent Tommy John Surgery. As a result, he focused more on hitting during his final two seasons at Oklahoma State. Last season, the 21-year-old posted a .335/.444/.665 line with 18 long balls, 64 RBI, and 10 stolen bases. This was a significant improvement over the .535 SLG and seven home runs he tallied in 2023. Scouts credit Benge's defensive skills as he is described to have a plus arm in right field. While Benge did pitch during his final two seasons at college, he should be considered exclusively an outfielder going forward.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerRead More News
