Carlos Rodon Could Be Shut Down
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler confirmed that it's possible the team will shut left-hander Carlos Rodon down for the final series of the regular season against the San Diego Padres this week. Kapler said the innings jump is definitely worth consideration, as are Rodon's wishes. The 29-year-old southpaw threw 132 2/3 innings in his final season with the Chicago White Sox last year, but he's already thrown a career-high 178 innings in his first year in San Francisco in 2022. He's been excellent for fantasy managers in his second straight All-Star season, going 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA (league-best 2.25 FIP), a 1.03 WHIP, a career-high 237 strikeouts and 52 walks in his 31 starts for the Gigantes.
