Carlos Correa Continues To Fight Through Plantar Fasciitis
1 year agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (foot) never went on the injured list after he was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in his left foot in late May, but it's still affecting him in a big way despite currently being on an 18-game on-base streak with an .882 OPS. "Every step is a struggle. It's not easy to deal with," Correa said. "Out of all the things I've played with in my career, there's nothing more painful than what I've been through this year." Correa's .708 OPS would be the lowest of his nine-year career, and he's grounded into more double plays (26) than any player in the majors. The injury is affecting his sprint speed and his defense, but he continues to play through it. Fantasy managers can only hope that the 28-year-old can continue his recent hot streak through the end of the 2023 campaign.
