Carlos Carrasco Playing Catch
5 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (illness) played catch on Monday and has been out since June 5 with an unspecified blood condition. He has been receiving treatment for an illness that is not believed to be life-threatening. It's possible that Carrasco could return before Corey Kluber (arm), but that is unlikely to be known for another two to three weeks. Carrasco just hadn't performed up to his standards this year before being shut down, and perhaps his blood condition was the reason why. the 32-year-old was 4-6 with a 4.98 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 79 strikeouts in 65 innings over 12 starts. Because of his high upside when healthy, Carrasco should be stashed in all leagues until we find out more on a potential timeline for a return.
