2 years agoThere's a mystery team in on free-agent left-hander Carlos Rodon, and it's believed to be the St. Louis Cardinals. Rodon is the top remaining free-agent starting pitcher, especially with the Mets inking Japanese right-hander Kodai Senga to a five-year deal on Saturday night. While the Cardinals are involved on the back-to-back All-Star hurler, it may very well come down to a battle between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants for his services. The Yankees are preparing to make an offer to Rodon and seem optimistic about landing him. New York beat out the Giants for their own superstar in Aaron Judge, but Rodon could be different after he thrived in San Fran last year with a 2.88 ERA and 237 strikeouts over 178 innings. The Rangers, Dodgers, Orioles, Twins and Red Sox have also been linked to Rodon.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
