Cam Akers To Miss Week 16
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers (ankle) will miss the Week 16 game against the division-rival Seahawks after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Week 15 loss to the Jets, according to head coach Sean McVay. Akers left the game in the second quarter but returned and finished the game with 15 carries for 63 yards. He has emerged as the team's leader of the backfield in recent weeks and played 63 and 79 percent of the offensive snaps in Weeks 13 and 14, respectively, going for 50 carries and 243 yards (4.9 yards per carry) and a touchdown in those two wins. With Akers set to miss this weekend, Darrell Henderson Jr. and Malcolm Brown will see bigger workloads against a Seattle defense that has defended the run well in the second half of the season. Henderson will be the more attractive fantasy back as more of an RB3/flex.
