Calvin Ridley 2018 Outlook: Unathletic Rookie Will Struggle To Find Targets
It's very difficult to get excited about a 23.5 year old rookie with 2nd percentile burst and a 22nd percentile catch radius. I realize Ridley is an excellent route runner, but athleticism matters, and Ridley doesn't have any. As if that's not enough of a reason to fade him, he will open the season likely as the third wide receiver in Atlanta's offense behind target hog Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu. Ridely will not be third in line for targets, though, as that order is likely Julio-Devonta Freeman-Sanu, with Austin Hooper possibly remaining ahead of Ridley as well. Even with an injury, Ridley is unlikely to have much fantasy value, but without one, I don't see any path to even WR5 relevance for Ridley as a rookie.
