Byron Buxton Unlikely To Return For ALDS
1 year agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/designated hitter Byron Buxton (knee, hamstring) remains hopeful of joining the team for the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros, but at this point he's unlikely to be on the roster while rehabbing a sore right knee that has sidelined him since early August. For every half step Buxton takes in his rehab, he seemingly takes a full one backward and struggles to stay on the field. "It wouldn't probably be at the speed I want it to be, and that's one of those where I don't want to hurt the team," Buxton said. He remains in day-to-day mode and will continue to take live at-bats, get treatment and rehab as much as possible. However, the 29-year-old is unlikely to be on the active roster for the ALDS, which begins Saturday in Houston.
