Byron Buxton To Take Batting Practice Tuesday
5 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (shoulder) will take live batting practice on Tuesday. The team will evaluate him on a day-to-day basis as they determine if he'll be ready for Opening Day. Buxton had surgery last September to fix a torn labrum in his non-throwing (left) shoulder. If he can avoid setbacks, he still has a chance to be ready by Opening Day, but don't get your hopes up. The 26-year-old has developed a reputation as a slower healer and is a big injury risk in fantasy, but he could be a bargain at his current 178.6 ADP if he can remain on the field. His mix of power and speed could be a difference-maker for your fantasy squad if he can manage to play something close to a full season. Buxton has only played over 100 games once in his five seasons in the bigs.
