Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (rib) was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 27. This move comes after Buxton was forced to exit early during Saturday's game due to a ribcage issue. He'll officially hit the shelf due to left rib cartilage irritation. This is a shame considering Buxton was actually doing quite well at the plate. He was slashing .282/.343/.561 with 23 home runs, 59 RBI, and 17 steals in 85 games. There should be a better timetable on his return in the coming days. In the meantime, Harrison Bader and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. will likely split up the playing time in center field.--Andy Webb
