Byron Buxton Has Successful Surgery Tuesday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (knee) had successful season-ending right knee surgery on Tuesday, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. The oft-injured Buxton will finish with 92 games under his belt in 2022, and he's only managed to play in over 100 games once in eight major-league seasons to this point. He finishes with a .224/.306/.526 slash line with an .833 OPS, a career-high 28 home runs, 51 RBI, 61 runs scored and six stolen bases in his 382 plate appearances for the Twins. If the 28-year-old can ever stay healthy for a full season, he could easily be in consideration for MVP honors. But his extensive injury history continues to make him a risk-reward fantasy selection.
