Bubba Watson won the Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club with a final score of 12-under, besting second-place finishers Tony Finau and Kevin Na by two strokes. He finished his final round in “Bubba Golf” fashion, playing the front side of his final round with three bogeys, leading to a one over par 36. He then hit some excellent putts on holes 11-13, followed by a pitch-in out of the green-side bunker on hole 14. From there he kept his lead and finished the 18th by hugging his caddy with tears rolling down his face. Entering the week ranked 117th in the world, he has climbed the world ranks drastically, currently sitting in 40th. This was a much-needed win for him, as he has struggled with numerous issues, both personally and on the course, in the past two years. Look for this win to significantly boost his confidence as he prepares to play for in the 2018 Masters.--Drake Peaugh
