On Saturday, Bryce Mitchell suffered a second-round submission loss to Jean Silva on the main card of UFC 314. Mitchell tried taking Silva down 14 times but only managed to take him down once as Silva demonstrated his takedown defense and overall superior grappling game. Midway through the second round, Silva sank in a slick ninja choke that put Mitchell to sleep. In 8:52 of action, Mitchell landed a takedown and 36 significant strikes. The submission loss drops Mitchell to 2-3 in his past five fights. With the loss, Mitchell dropped to 17-3 as a pro and is now 8-3 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic
