Bryce Harper Not Playing Against Twins
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman/designated hitter Bryce Harper (back) is out of the starting lineup on Friday with the team facing the visiting Minnesota Twins. Alec Bohm will play first base and bat second, while Edmundo Sosa starts at the hot corner and hits eighth against Twins left-hander Dallas Keuchel. Back spasms knocked Harper out of Thursday's game early against the Washington Nationals, and he'll take a seat for the series opener against Minnesota. It's unclear if this is an injured-list situation for the 30-year-old former MVP just yet, so consider him day-to-day for now. Harper got a late start to the season after recovering from right-elbow surgery. He's hitting a strong .293 (91-for-311), but perhaps his elbow is the reason why his power is down this year (just seven homers).
