Broncos Think Javonte Williams Is Special
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos were ecstatic when they traded up five spots on April 30 to take running back Javonte Williams in the second round this year. Williams was identified as the draft's top running back after he averaged 7.3 yards per carry in 2020 for North Carolina. "We just think he's a special back," general manager George Paton said. "A three-down back, really good on first and second down, he can pass protect and he can catch the ball (out of) the backfield." Williams is an exciting prospect, but don't forget that the team still has Melvin Gordon III. So while the rookie could eventually take over the majority of the snaps later in the 2021 season, fantasy managers might want to pump the breaks on Williams giving you RB2 value right off the bat. Williams' ADP is currently two spots higher than Gordon, with both coming at the cost of a high-end RB3/low-end RB2.
