Broncos Still In Position To Draft A Quarterback
4 years agoThe Denver Broncos are still in the running to draft a quarterback at No. 9 overall in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night, despite trading for Teddy Bridgewater on Wednesday. The Broncos might actually be in a better position to take a signal-caller on Thursday night because of Bridgewater's arrival. "It also gives them more of a path to drafting Trey Lance if he's there at No. 9," Silver explained. "He's not a guy that they consider is ready to play right away in an optimal world. Didn't play that much at North Dakota State, but now, with Teddy Bridgewater on board, you can make that pick and feel pretty good about it." The Broncos will likely have Drew Lock and Bridgewater compete for the starting gig in training camp, while a rookie QB could be groomed as the future starter beyond the 2021 season.
