Broncos Place Low-Round Tender On Phillip Lindsay
4 years agoThe Denver Broncos placed the low-round tender on restricted free-agent running back Phillip Lindsay. Another team can sign Lindsay to an offer sheet if Denver doesn't match it, and Lindsay's departure would leave the Broncos without draft-pick compensation. The low-round tender is worth $2.133 million in 2021, so there's a high probability that Lindsay moves on this offseason. Lindsay ran for 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with Denver, but he battled injuries throughout 2020 and rushed for only 502 yards and a touchdown on 118 attempts in eight games. He added seven catches for 28 yards but mostly took a back seat to Melvin Gordon III when he was on the field. Royce Freeman remains under contract, but we'd expect Denver to address the position in next month's draft if Lindsay leaves in free agency.
