Broncos Not Planning to Put Patrick Surtain II on Injured Reserve
As of right now, the Denver Broncos are not planning to place cornerback Patrick Surtain II (pectoral) on Injured Reserve, a source told Luca Evans of The Denver Post. Surtain suffered an injury to his pectoral muscle in last week's win over the Denver Broncos and is unlikely to play in Week 9 this Sunday on the road against the Houston Texans. If Surtain were to land on Injured Reserve, last year's NFL Defensive Player of the Year would be required to miss at least four games. After this weekend's game against the Texans, the Broncos have home games against the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs before going on their bye. The 25-year-old defensive back is expected to miss anywhere from four to six weeks with his injury, so Denver's secondary will be a little more vulnerable in the coming weeks without their star defender. Jahdae Barron is expected to have an increased role with Surtain sidelined.
