Brian O'Keefe Outrighted To Triple-A
1 year agoSeattle Mariners catcher Brian O'Keefe cleared waivers on Tuesday and has been outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma. The Mariners originally designated O'Keefe for assignment last Friday. If the 30-year-old backstop declines his outright assignment to the minors, he will become a free agent after the conclusion of the World Series. He played in just eight games in his second year in the big leagues for Seattle in 2023, going 2-for-19 (.105) with two doubles, two RBI, two walks and seven strikeouts in 21 plate appearances for the M's. O'Keefe has yet to clear the fences and has gone 3-for-22 over 10 games in the big leagues the last two years.
