Brett Baty Could Be Recalled By Mets

The New York Mets haven't ruled out the possibility of promoting third base prospect Brett Baty, depending on infielder Luis Guillorme's (groin) MRI results on Monday. Mark Vientos, the club's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, hasn't been in the discussion for a call-up. Baty was just promoted to Triple-A Syracuse earlier this month and is the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old left-handed hitter batted .312/.406/.544 with a .950 OPS, 19 home runs, 59 RBI, 73 runs scored and two stolen bases in 89 games at Double-A Binghamton to earn a promotion, and he's gone 8-for-22 (.364) with an RBI and three runs scored in his first six games at Syracuse. Baty would be worth a look in single-year leagues if he gets a promotion and sees regular playing time at the hot corner in Queens.
