Brent Rooker Goes Yard in Win
Brent Rooker mashed his 17th home run of the season in the club's 7-0 blowout of the New York Yankees on Saturday. Rooker's fourth-inning solo blast off right-hander Clarke Schmidt was his lone hit in a 1-for-4 day. He also reached base on a walk. The 30-year-old slugger is batting a productive .271/.348/.485 with 44 RBI, 52 runs scored, and a career-best 20.8% strikeout rate in 371 plate appearances. While Rooker is still behind last year's 39-HR, 112-RBI pace, it bodes well that he ranks in the league's 92nd percentile or better in xBA, xwOBA, and xSLG.
