Brendan Steele Mired In Terrible Slump
6 years agoBrendan Steele is scheduled to tee it up in this week's Honda Classic. Steele has been mired in a terrible slump for several months. The 35-year-old has missed the cut in three of his four 2019 starts and is regularly failing to break par. He is hitting the driver well, but continually struggles with his irons and short game. Steele currently stands 137th in strokes gained: approach and 216th in strokes gained: putting on the PGA Tour. If there is a silver lining this week, it's that Steele has played extremely well in his previous Honda Classic starts. He has logged top-15 finishes in his last three trips to PGA National. Despite his strong course history, Steele is nothing more than a GPP prayer with his current form.
