Brendan Rodgers Continues Hitting Well
6 years agoColorado Rockies rookie infielder Brendan Rodgers has continued to look well-prepared for major league pitching so far. Rodgers knocked a bases loaded single on Thursday to continue the team's comeback rally, and he's now hitting .294 with four RBI after his first four major league games. Rodgers is the team's top prospect and was lighting up Triple-A before his call-up. Now in the bigs for the first time, the 22-year-old is getting some extended play at second base to see if he can be the answer for the failed Ryan McMahon/Garrett Hampson platoon that was tried to start the season. The one lingering concern is that Rodgers can be hampered by swing-and-miss issues, and he's already racked up seven strikeouts so far. He'll need to calm down and keep that under control if he wants to find long-term success.
