Brendan McKay To Pitch In Florida Complex League
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Brendan McKay (shoulder), who had a setback with scar tissue in his shoulder a few weeks ago, will pitch in the Florida Complex League on Tuesday. It will be McKay's first outing since June 29. Once one of the team's top pitching prospects, McKay has not pitched in the major leagues since he was first brought up in 2019. The 25-year-old southpaw appeared in 13 games (11 starts) that year and posted a 5.14 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 56/16 K/BB in 49 innings. He's only thrown two innings in the minor leagues with the team's Rookie League affiliate, so McKay will probably need a lengthy rehab assignment before he's even an option for the Rays. McKay is a reasonable stash in dynasty/keeper leagues, but he shouldn't be counted on to make an impact in redraft leagues at this point.
