St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn was named the team captain on Tuesday. He becomes the 24th player in franchise history to lead the side as captain. The Blues were left looking for a new captain after Ryan O'Reilly was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in February. Schenn, who has been an alternate captain for three years, moved to St. Louis in 2017 from Philadelphia. He posted a career-high 70 points in his first season with the team and has been one of the Blues' most consistent performers throughout his stay. Last season, Schenn totaled 65 points (21 goals, 44 assists) in 82 appearances. Being named captain is a tremendous honor for any player, and Schenn must be itching to get going now with the new season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
