Brayan Bello Resumes Throwing Monday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello (forearm) resumed throwing on flat ground at a shorter distance at spring training on Monday for the first time since reporting forearm tightness following his bullpen session a week ago. The Red Sox are being extra cautious with the 23-year-old early in camp, but it's a good sign that he's already back to throwing. Barring any further setbacks, Bello has plenty of time to build up in order to be ready for Opening Day. In his first major-league action in 2022, Bello went 2-8 with a 4.71 ERA (2.94 FIP), 1.78 WHIP and 20.5 percent strikeout rate in 57 1/3 innings over 13 appearances (11 starts). He was optioned back to the minors at one point, but he was better when he returned and has plenty of upside if he can improve his control.
