Braves Set NLDS Rotation, Julio Teheran Left Off Roster
5 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel will go in Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Cardinals on Thursday, followed by Mike Foltynewicz in Game 2 and Mike Soroka in Game 3. Atlanta will leave starter Julio Teheran off the roster and go with a six-man bench and 11-man pitching staff. Josh Tomlin will serve as a long reliever. Soroka's road ERA (3.39) was the main reason he was saved for Game 3 in St. Louis. The young right-hander had an excellent year, going 13-4 with a sharp 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 142 K's in 174 2/3 frames over his 29 starts. Teheran didn't make the cut after posting a 6.56 ERA in 23 1/3 innings over his final five starts in the month of September.
