Brandon Woodruff Throws Four Innings In Rehab Start
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) made a minor-league rehab start for High-A Wisconsin on Thursday and allowed an earned run on four hits while walking none and striking out three in four innings of work. Woodruff was able to increase his pitch count to 52 pitches in his second rehab start. The 30-year-old will probably only need one more outing in the minors before the Brewers consider activating him for a return to Milwaukee's starting rotation. The two-time All-Star should be stashed in all fantasy leagues, and he could be a difference-maker down the stretch. In his two starts before getting hurt early this year, Woodruff had allowed just an earned run while striking out 12 in 11 1/3 innings.
