Brandon Pfaadt Strikes Out Seven In No-Decision
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks rookie right-hander Brandon Pfaadt had a pretty solid Game 7 start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night in the National League Championship Series, all things considered. In four innings of work, Pfaadt gave up two earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking two and striking out seven for a no-decision. Pfaadt kept the D-backs in the game and held down the offensive juggernaut of the Phillies for a 4-2 win to send Arizona to their first World Series since 2001. The 25-year-old has been a work in progress in his first MLB season, but he's peaking at the right time and has struck out 11.9 hitters per nine innings in his first 16 2/3 playoff innings. The Snakes can only hope he can keep this up against the Texas Rangers in the Fall Classic.
