Florida Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour (shoulder) won't be available at the start of the season, according to general manager Bill Zito. The 29-year-old had shoulder surgery in the offseason, and Zito expects to have him back anytime between November and January. Montour was a monster for the Panthers last season with a career-high 73 points (16 goals, 57 assists) in 80 games, and his presence will definitely missed. However, it will give others opportunities to shine. With Aaron Ekblad (shoulder) also unavailable for the start of the campaign, Gustav Forsling looks set to be the leader on the blue line for the Panthers, while new signing Oliver Ekman-Larsson figures to feature heavily in all situations straight away as well.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
