Brandon Guyer Announces Retirement
4 years agoFree-agent outfielder Brandon Guyer announced his retirement from baseball on Monday. The 34-year-old was a member of the 2016 American League-champion Cleveland Indians. He had a career .274 batting average and an .824 OPS against left-handed pitchers. Guyer also had 24 home runs in his 671 career at-bats. He went to spring training with the Giants this year but was released on March 26. A fifth-round pick of the Cubs back in 2007, Guyer didn't see any big league action last year and hit just .206 with seven home runs and 27 RBI in 103 games for the Indians in 2018.
