Brandon Crawford Takes A Seat
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford will take a seat on the bench on Wednesday with the team taking on the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Johan Camargo will handle shortstop duties and will hit in the eight-hole against Rays right-hander Aaron Civale. Crawford has really looked overmatched on offense this year as he nears the end of a fabulous career. The 36-year-old left-handed hitter is batting under the Mendoza Line at .197 (47-for-239) and has just six home runs, 32 RBI, three stolen bases and 27 runs scored on the year. Crawford also has only four hits (one homer) in 33 at-bats in the month of August and hasn't recorded a base knock since Aug. 9.
