4 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (foot) has resumed hitting and taking ground balls, but he won't run the bases for at least a couple of days. With Opening Day just around the corner next Friday, July 24, Belt may not have enough time to be ready for the start of the regular season. If he's not ready, Pablo Sandoval will likely shift over from third base to play first base early on. Barring a setback, Belt shouldn't miss much time, though, if he's not in the Opening Day lineup. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter has a low fantasy ceiling in a pitcher's park and in a weak lineup, but he's not a bad corner infield option in deep mixed and NL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
