Brandon Belt Does Some Hitting, Throwing
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) hit off a tee and threw out to 110 feet on Tuesday. Belt is opting to rehab his injured knee instead of undergoing what would likely be season-ending surgery. The 33-year-old still doesn't have a timetable for a return, but it's nice to know that he's already doing some baseball activities during his rehab. The left-handed-hitting first baseman has a .253/.363/.512 slash line, 11 home runs, 30 runs scored, 28 RBI and even three stolen bases in 170 at-bats on the season. He's been especially valuable in leagues that count on-base percentage. Fantasy managers that are holding him in deep mixed and NL-only leagues must remain patient. LaMonte Wade Jr. has taken over at first base with Belt sidelined and has even been hitting leadoff quite frequently.
