Braden Holtby Blanks Bolts To Force Game 7
7 years agoWashington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby was perfect in Game 6 when his team needed him most. He stopped all 24 shots faced to earn his first shutout of the postseason. Admittedly, Holtby got some help from his teammates. On Tampa Bay’s two power plays, they were only able to produce one shot on goal and the Caps outblocked the Bolts 20 to 13 with their season on the line. This was a much-needed bounce-back game for the Saskatchewan native, as he had allowed three or more goals in Washington’s three consecutive losses. Holtby and the Caps hold an impressive 7-2 road record this postseason, something to keep in mind as Game 7 returns to Amalie Arena.
