Bears Would Like To Re-Sign David Montgomery
David Montgomery appears to be ready to hit the open market this summer. Despite that, there are reports saying that the Bears would like to re-sign the 25-year-old back. Last season, Montgomery rushed for a career-low 801 yards on 201 attempts with five touchdowns in 16 games. He was a serviceable back, but only had three runs for 15-plus yards, which was the lowest of any back to receive 200-plus carries last season. Third-year back Khalil Herbert was the better back between the two last season. Herbert will come at a much cheaper price, so possibly the Bears decide to let Montgomery walk if the two sides cannot find common ground on a deal.
