Bears Re-Sign Germain Ifedi
4 years agoThe Chicago Bears re-signed versatile offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million on Tuesday, according to a source. The deal includes a $4.25 million base salary. Ifedi played in all 16 regular season games last year and the wild-card playoff game, earning a 65.5 grade from Pro Football Focus, the highest grade of his career. With Bobbie Massie no longer in town, Ifedi could wind up competing for the starting right tackle position in Chicago, but his versatility along the offensive line may be more valuable. The 26-year-old was the 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2016 draft by the Seahawks out of Texas A&M. He spent the first four years of his career in Seattle before joining the Bears in 2020.
